Helo Bawb

Gair cyflym gyda’r diweddaraf o Fro Edern a hithau’n nos Iau ar ôl diwrnod hir a chymhleth. Gobeithio eich bod i gyd yn iawn.

Clywsom yn ystod y bore heddiw fod achos positif o COVID-19 ymhlith un disgybl ym mlwyddyn 12 ac un disgybl ym mlwyddyn 11. Rydyn ni’n dilyn canllawiau Tracio ac Olrhain yn ofalus ac yn cydweithredu gyda’r sir a’r gwybodusion yn Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru er mwyn amddiffyn holl deulu Bro Edern.

Dyma’r sefyllfa y tro hwn:

Y disgybl ym mlwyddyn 12

Yn yr achos hwn roedd angen i ni edrych ar symudiadau’r disgybl rhwng dydd Iau 12 Tachwedd a Dydd Mawrth 17 Tachwedd. Rydyn ni wedi adnabod disgyblion sydd wedi bod yn yr un gwersi â’r disgybl ac yn Lolfa’r Chweched ar yr un pryd. Er mwyn gwneud hyn rydyn ni wedi astudio cynllun eistedd pob gwers berthnasol ac wedi mesur y pwyntiau angenrheidiol yn y dosbarthiadau a’r Lolfa er mwyn gweld pwy oedd o fewn y 2m o radiws er mwyn gorfod hunanynysu. Rydyn ni wedi treulio oriau heddiw’n mesur a gwylio CCTV Lolfa’r Chweched er mwyn adnabod yr unigolion sydd yn gorfod hunan ynysu. Buasai’n llawer haws i ni anfon y Chweched cyfan adref, ond rydyn ni’n awyddus iawn i osgoi hynny ar bob cyfrif. Mae’r disgyblion sy’n gysylltiadau gyda’r disgybl positif i gyd wedi derbyn gwybodaeth eu bod yn gorfod hunan ynysu am 14 diwrnod o ddydd Mawrth ac rydym yn edrych ymlaen at croesawu nôl i’r ysgol ddydd Mawrth 1 Rhagfyr. Mae pawb o’r Chweched sydd angen hunan ynysu wedi cael clywed drwy neges destun i rieni heno. Bydd gweddill y Chweched yn dychwelyd i’r ysgol yfory, fel arfer.

Rydyn ni hefyd wedi gorfod adnabod disgyblion a aeth adref ar lawr top bws 812 bnawn Gwener 13 Tachwedd, sef y tro diwethaf i’r disgybl positif deithio ar fws yr ysgol. Casglwyd holl ddisgyblion yr 812 o’u gwersi y bore ma er mwyn i ni weithio allan pwy oedd yn eistedd ar lawr top y bws ddydd Gwener diwethaf. Mae’r disgyblion wedi derbyn gwybodaeth eu bod yn gorfod hunan ynysu am 14 diwrnod o ddydd Gwener diwethaf ac mae eu rhieni wedi’u casglu yn ystod y prynhawn fel nad oedd un ohonynt wedi mynd adref ar y bws. Rydym yn edrych ymlaen i’w croesawu hwythau nôl ddydd Gwener 27 Tachwedd.

Y disgybl ym mlwyddyn 11

Oherwydd nad yw’r disgybl wedi bod yn yr ysgol ers sbel nid oes angen i unrhyw un arall o flwyddyn 11 hunan ynysu onibai fod cyswllt cymdeithasol y tu hwn i’r ysgol wedi digwydd.

Hoffem ddiolch i’r holl rieni am eu cydweithrediad parod gyda’r ysgol heddiw, yn enwedig i rhieni a gasglodd eu plant ar fyr rybudd. Rydych chi wedi gwneud ein gwaith ni dipyn yn haws.

Mae’r awdurdodau’n hollol gytûn nad oes angen i ni ofyn i ragor o ddisgyblion hunanynysu ar yr achlysur hwn, oherwydd y camau sy’n cael eu cymryd yn feunyddiol ym Mro Edern er mwyn amddiffyn staff a disgyblion fel ei gilydd. Os nad ydych wedi clywed gan yr ysgol heddiw, yna mae Bro Edern ar agor i chi, fel arfer.

Cofiwch fod yn wyliadwrus o’r symtomau, ac os oes unrhyw un yn y cartref yn dangos symtomau, cofiwch fod angen i bawb yn eich tŷ hunanynysu nes bod prawf negyddol neu gyngor meddygol wedi’i dderbyn.

Dysgu Byw ar gyfer Disgyblion sy’n Hunanynysu

Aeth disgyblion y Chweched gartref ben bore i gael diwrnod llawn o ddysgu byw, ac roedd y dysgu byw yn barod o wers 5 ar gyfer disgyblion bws 812. Diolch i’r staff am gamu i’r adwy’n syth a galluogi hyn.

Mae’r trefniadau Dysgu Byw i’w gweld yma:

https://sites.google.com/hwbcymru.net/disgyblionbroedern/dysgu-byw

Noder nad yw hi’n bosibl i ni gynnal Dysgu Byw ar gyfer disgyblion sydd i ffwrdd o’r ysgol, ond sydd ddim yn hunanynysu oherwydd COVID-19. Bydd angen iddyn nhw gopïo i fyny yn y ffordd arferol. Ambell waith mae eithriadau prin sydd yn cael eu cymeradwyo gan Uwch Dîm Arwain yr ysgol, megis disgybl sydd ar hyn o bryd wedi torri coes yn wael ac sydd i ffwrdd o’r ysgol am gyfnod hir.

Cyfarfod Rhieni am yr Arholiadau

Diolch yn fawr i bawb a ddaeth i’n cyfarfodydd ar-lein heno i drafod yr arholiadau sydd wedi cael eu canslo i flwyddyn 10,11,12 a 13. Dyma gopi o’r sleidiau, er mwyn i chi fwrw golwg drostynt, a’u trafod gyda’ch plentyn:

Diolch yn fawr

Hoffwn ddiolch i chi fel rhieni unwaith eto am eich cefnogaeth gadarn i’r ysgol. Mae mwyafrif y disgyblion yn cofio dod â mwgwd i’r ysgol ac mae bron pawb yn cofio mynd ar hyd y llwybr un ffordd o amgylch yr ysgol. Mae’r mesurau hyn yn rhan allweddol o’n hymdrechion fel ysgol i leihau’r niferoedd sy’n trosglwyddo COVID-19 o fewn y sir, fel y gwelson ni unwaith eto heddiw. Diolch i chi fel rhieni am atgoffa’ch plant yn gyson am bwysigrwydd y rheolau hyn a’u hannog i’w dilyn ar bob achlysur.

Pob dymuniad da

Dear All

A quick message with the latest from Bro Edern on a Thursday evening, after a long and complicated day. I hope you’re all well.

We were notified this morning that one student in year 12 and one pupil in year 11 have both tested positive for COVID-19. We have followed the Track and Trace guidelines carefully and have worked with the county and the experts at Public Health Wales to protect the whole Bro Edern family.

The situation this time:

The Student in Year 12

In this instance we needed to look at the pupil’s movements between Thursday 12 November and Tuesday 17 November. We have identified pupils who have been in the same lessons as the pupil and in the Sixth Form Lounge at the same time. In order to do this, we have studied the seating plan of each relevant lesson and measured the points necessary in the classrooms and the Lounge to find out who was within the 2m radius for self-isolation. We have spent hours today watching CCTV of the Lounge in order to recognise the individuals who need to self isolate. It would be much easier for us to send the whole Sixth Form home, but this would be our last resort. The students who have been identified as contacts have been informed that they have to self isolate for 14 days from Tuesday and we look forward to welcoming them back to school on Tuesday 1 December. All pupils in the Sixth Form who need to self isolate have been informed tonight by texts to parents. All other Sixth Formers will return to school as usual, tomorrow.

We have also had to identify pupils who went home on the top floor of the 812 bus on Friday 13 November. This was the last time that the positive pupil travelled on the school bus. All 812 pupils were collected from their lessons this morning in order for us to work out who was on the top deck on Friday afternoon. These pupils have also been informed that they have to self isolate for 14 days from last Friday and their parents have collected them this afternoon, so that no-one needed to go home by bus today. We look forward to welcoming them back on Friday 27 November.

The Pupil in Year 11

As the pupil has not been at school for a while, no one else from year 11 needs to self isolate unless social contact has occurred outside the school.

We would like to thank all parents for your co-operation with the school this afternoon, especially those who collected their children at such short notice. You have made our work significantly easier.

The authorities are entirely in agreement that we do not need to ask any other pupil to self isolate on this occasion, because of the daily actions being taken at Bro Edern to protect staff and pupils alike. If you have not been contacted by the school today, then Bro Edern is open for you, as usual.

Please be vigilant of the symptoms, so if anyone in your home shows any COVID-19 symptoms, please remember that everyone in your home needs to self isolate until you receive a negative result or further medical advice.

Live Learning for Self Isolating Pupils

The whole Sixth Form returned home this morning to have a whole day of live learning, and live learning was set up for the 812 bus pupils from lesson 5 onwards. Thanks so much to all the staff who made this happen at such short notice.

The live learning arrangements can be seen here:

https://sites.google.com/hwbcymru.net/disgyblionbroedern/dysgu-byw

Please note that it is not possible for us to provide Live Learning for pupils who are away from school for non-COVID-19 reasons. These pupils will need to copy up as usual. Sometimes there are rare exceptions which are approved by the school’s Senior Leadership Team, such as the pupil who is currently off long-term with a badly broken leg.

Meeting about Exams for Parents

Many thanks to all of you who attended this evening’s meeting about the cancelled exams for years 10,11,12 and 13. Here you can see the slides used, in order for you to be able to look over them again and discuss them with your child:

Diolch yn fawr

I would like to thank you as parents once again for your unwavering support of the school. Most pupils remember to bring a mask to school and almost everyone remembers to follow the one way system around the school. These measures are a key part of our effort as a school to reduce COVID-19 transmission within the county. Thanks to you as parents for constantly reminding your children of the importance of these rules and encouraging them to follow them at all times.

Best wishes
