BILINGUAL BLOG – ENGLISH BELOW

Helo Bawb

Blog byr i chi cyn penwythnos Gŵyl y Banc gyda’r diweddaraf o Fro Edern. Gobeithio bod pawb yn cadw’n iawn a bydd cyfle i chi ymlacio dros y penwythnos, er na fydd hynny, o bosibl, yn opsiwn i bawb.

Achos newydd o COVID-19 yn y Chweched

Ben bore ddoe, cawsom wybod bod achos positif o COVID-19 ym mlwyddyn 13. Roedd y disgybl heb unrhyw symtomau. Yn unol â’r drefn, gwnaeth y disgybl brawf llif unffordd nos Fercher o’r bocs glas a gafwyd gan yr ysgol. Roedd y canlyniad a ymddangosodd o fewn hanner awr yn bositif, felly gwnaeth y teulu apwyntiad yn syth i gael prawf swyddogol. Roedd slot ar gael yn hwyrach y noson honno, ac fe ddaeth y canlyniad nôl yn syth y bore canlynol, sef bore ddoe.

Unwaith i ni glywed, fe anfonon ni bawb ym mlwyddyn 12 a 13 adref, er mwyn i ni gael amser i wneud ymholiadau pellach. Am fod y disgybl heb unrhyw symtomau, roedd wedi bod yn yr ysgol drwy’r wythnos, hyd at ddydd Mercher. Mesurwyd y dosbarthiadau dysgu ble roedd y disgybl wedi cael gwersi yr wythnos hon yn erbyn y cynlluniau eistedd a mesurwyd y Lolfa unwaith eto, a gwyliwyd ac amserwyd y teledu cylch cyfyng (CCTV) sydd yn y Lolfa. Mae hyn oll wedi golygu ein bod wedi medru anfon criw bychan o ddisgyblion blwyddyn 13 adref i hunanynysu, yn hytrach na chau’r Chweched. Nid oedd unrhyw un o flwyddyn 12 yn y radiws o 2m yn y Lolfa ar gyfer hunanynysu.

Rydyn ni’n ymwybodol fod yr amseru’n anffodus, gyda’r asesiadau yn eu hanterth, ond mae trefniadau yn eu lle ar gyfer asesiadau’r Chweched i gyd, gan gynnwys unrhyw asesiadau o gollwyd bore ddoe wrth i ni fesur ac amseru. Mae trefniadau hefyd yn eu lle ar gyfer y disgyblion sydd yn hunanynysu am 10 diwrnod. Os oes unrhyw ymholiadau, cysylltwch gyda Miss Land.

Mae’n bwysig fod disgyblion yn parhau i wneud y profion llif unffordd, oherwydd fel gyda’r achos yn y Chweched yr wythnos hon, mae cael rhybudd am ddisgyblion heb symtomau’n ein helpu i geisio amddiffyn pawb yn yr ysgol a’u teuluoedd.

Profedigaeth

Yr wythnos hon fe dderbynion ni newyddion trist am brofedigaeth ymhlith teulu Bro Edern. Mae un o ddisgyblion blwyddyn 7 wedi colli ei dad i COVID-19. Hoffwn estyn ein cydymdeimlad dwysaf ag Isaac Ohene-Adjei a’i deulu wedi marwolaeth Eric, tad Isaac yr wythnos diwethaf ar ôl cyfnod hir yn yr ysbyty. Roedd yn aelod poblogaidd o staff Tesco yn Llaneirwg a mawr yw’r golled ar ei ôl. Roedd hanes Eric i’w weld ar Wales Online yn ddiweddar: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/dad-three-46-dies-after-20416513 Rydym yn ymwybodol hefyd fod nifer o ddisgyblion Bro Edern wedi colli mam-gu neu dad-cu yn ystod y misoedd diwethaf, mae wedi bod yn gyfnod anodd i nifer o deuluoedd. Byddwn, wrth gwrs, yn gwneud ein gorau i gefnogi eich plant yn yr ysgol, fel arfer.

Rydyn ni’n parhau i gymryd yr holl gamau yn erbyn COVID-19 o fewn Bro Edern er mwyn ceisio lleihau ar ledaeniad y feirws. Er bod cymaint o siopau a sefydliadau’n ail-agor a phethau’n mynd nôl i “normal” ar hyn o bryd, mae angen i ni fod mor ofalus ag erioed. Mae llawer o’r staff wedi cael eu brechu erbyn hyn, ond mae’r mygydau, y diheintio, y golchi dwylo a’r system un ffordd yn parhau i fod yn bwysig yn ein bywyd beunyddiol ym Mro Edern. Diolch i chi am eich cefnogaeth barhaus i hyn, ac am annog eich plentyn i gadw ei hunan a phawb arall yn ddiogel.

Dymuniadau gorau

Hello All

A short blog for you with the latest from Bro Edern before the Bank Holiday weekend. We hope that you are all well and that you will have the opportunity to relax over the weekend, although this may not be an option for everyone.

New case of COVID-19 in the Sixth From

Yesterday morning, we were informed that there was a positive case of COVID-19 in year 13. The pupil had no symptoms. Following the usual guidelines, the pupil did a lateral flow test on Wednesday evening, using the blue box supplied by school. The result that appeared within half an hour was positive, so the family immediately booked an official test. A slot was available later that evening, and the positive result came back the following morning, which was yesterday morning.

Once we were informed, we sent everyone in years 12 and 13 home, in order for us to make further enquiries. Because the pupil had no symptoms, they had been in school all week, up to Wednesday. The classrooms where the pupil had attended lessons this week were measured against the seating plans and the Lolfa was measured once again. Also, the CCTV in the Lolfa was watched and timed. All this has meant that we have been able to send a small group of year 13 pupils home to self isolate, rather than close the whole Sixth Form. No one from year 12 was in the 2m radius in the Lolfa to have to self-isolate.

We are aware that the timing is unfortunate, with the assessments in full swing, but arrangements are in place for all Sixth Form assessments, including any assessments missed yesterday morning, as we measured and timed. Arrangements are also in place for pupils who now need to self-isolate for 10 days. If you have any queries, please contact Miss Land.

It is important that pupils continue to do the lateral flow tests, because as was the case in the Sixth Form this week, being alerted to asymptomatic pupils (positive pupils without symptoms) helps us to try to protect everyone at school and their families.

Bereavement

This week we have received sad news about a bereavement among the Bro Edern family. A year 7 pupil has lost his father to COVID-19 during the past week. I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Isaac Ohene-Adjei and his family following the death of Isaac’s father Eric after some time in hospital. He was a popular member of staff at Tesco St Mellons and will be sadly missed. Eric’s story was featured in the Wales Online recently: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/dad-three-46-dies-after-20416513 We are also aware that many Bro Edern pupils have lost their grandparents in recent months; it has been a difficult time for many of our families. We will of course, try our best as always, to support your children in school.

We are continuing to take all possible steps against COVID-19 within Bro Edern in an attempt to reduce the spread of the virus. While so many shops and establishments are reopening and things are going back to “normal” right now, we need to be as careful as ever. Many staff have now been vaccinated, but the masks, disinfection, hand washing and the one way system continue to be an important part of our daily life at Bro Edern. Thank you for your continued support, and for encouraging your child to keep themselves and everyone else safe.

Best wishes
