Dydd Gŵyl Dewi 🌼 St David’s Day

BLOG DWYIEITHOG // BILINGUAL BLOG – ENGLISH BELOW

Annwyl Bawb

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi cynnar ac hapus i chi i gyd!

Gobeithio eich bod i gyd yn iawn. Rwy’n sicr y byddwch yn falch i weld mai blog byr sydd i chi heddiw ar ddiwedd wythnos brysur arall. Diolch i’r holl rieni a disgyblion a fynychodd ein cyfarfod i flwyddyn 11,12 a 13 nos Fercher. Gobeithio i chi elwa o’r cyfarfod. Penawdau’n bennaf sydd yn ein blog heddiw. Mae manylion llawnach am nifer o’r pethau isod yn y blog diwethaf.

Dydd Llun – Dydd Gŵyl Dewi

Hoffwn gadarnhau’r trefniadau ar gyfer Dydd Gŵyl Dewi, sef bod gwersi arferol fore Llun ac yna pnawn di-sgrîn i’n disgyblion a’n staff wedi hynny. Rydym ni wedi trefnu dewis o weithgareddau i’ch plentyn.

Dyma’r opsiynau:

  • cystadlu yng nghystadlaethau’r Cyfeillion drwy dalu £1 ar ParentPay a llwytho lluniau o’r creadigaethau i Google Classroom – mae yna wobrau!
  • parhau i bererindota drwy gerdded, seiclo neu redeg am y prynhawn a chofnodi’r pellter / amser ar gyfer Pererindod Dewi Sant
  • cystadlu yn unrhyw rai o gystadlaethau’r Urdd, sy’n cynnwys ffotograffiaeth, celf, cyfansoddi, ysgrifennu ayb

Mae manylion llawn a lincs i bopeth ar gyfer y disgyblion ar y wefan hon:

Gobeithio y bydd pawb yn elwa’n llawn o’r cyfle i wneud rhywbeth gwahanol, ac fe groeswn ein bysedd am dywydd braf ar gyfer pawb sydd eisiau gwneud Pererindod Dewi Sant. Mae rhai disgyblion eisoes wedi cwblhau’r holl filltiroedd ar eu beic, ac mae llawer o staff wedi bod yn brysur yn cerdded, rhedeg neu seiclo o amgylch Caerdydd dros hanner tymor. Dyma syniad i chi o rai o bellteroedd y staff dros yr wythnos o wyliau:

  • Mr Steffan Jones – wedi cyrraedd Tyddewi, a 75km nôl tuag at Gaerdydd!
  • Mr Arwel Jones – 42 km
  • Mr Aled Evans – 37 km
  • Miss Gwenan Price – 68.3 km
  • Miss Ceri A James – 64.8 km
  • Mrs Eirian Samuel – 33.6 km
  • Mrs Lowri Jones – 18 milltir
  • Miss Eurgain Evans – 39.64 milltir
  • Miss Elin Lloyd – 20 km
  • Miss Bethan Yapp – 49.95 km

Mae pawb nawr yn anelu am Dyddewi erbyn diwedd mis Mawrth. Llwyddais i i gwblhau 100km, yn gyfuniad o deithiau beic a cherdded. Rwy’n siwr y gall ein disgyblion ifanc a heini gadw lan a churo’r staff erbyn diwedd mis Mawrth!

#HerHannerTymor

Llongyfarchiadau i’r canlynol ar ennill ein her ddarllen dros hanner tymor: Carys Hern, Leisa Hughes a Dylan Mills. Mae talebau Joe’s yn aros amdanoch. A diolch i bawb wnaeth gymryd rhan. Gobeithio i chi fwynhau’r darllen, a’ch bod yn parhau i ddarllen yn ddyddiol.

Talebau ar gyfer buddugwyr #HerHannerTymor

Adroddiadau

Dylai adroddiadau bl 12 a 13 fod wedi cyrraedd yr adran “Announcements” ar eich cyfrif ClassCharts ddoe, a rhai blwyddyn 11 heddiw. Y cam nesaf yw’r nosweithiau rhieni sydd ar y gweill, fel bod modd i chi drafod yr adroddiad yn uniongyrchol gyda’r staff sy’n dysgu eich plentyn. Os oes angen login ClassCharts arnoch chi neu’ch plentyn, yna cofiwch gysylltu gyda Mr Gary Ellis: GEllis@ysgolbroedern.cardiff.sch.uk

Noson Rieni’r Chweched

Cofiwch fod y system bwcio ar School Cloud yn agor heno am 6pm, gan ddilyn system gyfrifiadurol “cyntaf i’r felin”. Mae’r noson ei hunan nos Fercher nesaf.

Mae’r holl fanylion am y system School Cloud a’r nosweithiau rhieni rhithiol i’w gweld yma. Mae’n hanfodol eich bod yn darllen y cyfarwyddiadau ac yn gwylio’r fideo ymlaen llaw, er mwyn ymgyfarwyddo â’r drefn:

https://sites.google.com/hwbcymru.net/disgyblionbroedern/noson-rieni-2021

Noson Opsiynau Blwyddyn 9

Cynhelir y noson hon ar gyfer disgyblion blwyddyn 9 a’u rhieni nos Iau nesaf. Bydd lincs yn dilyn yr wythnos nesaf. Ymddangosodd y llinell amser gyfan ar gyfer yr opsiynau yn y blog diwethaf.

Noson Rieni Blwyddyn 11

Fel y gwyddoch bydd y noson rieni hon ar nos Iau 11 Mawrth. Bydd y bwcio’n agor ar nos Wener 5 Mawrth am 6pm. Bydd y codau 8 digid yn cael eu hanfon allan erbyn dydd Iau nesaf.

App Teachers2Parents

Rydyn ni’n awgrymu’n gryf iawn fod rhieni’n dileu’r app Teachers2Parents, os yw e gennych. Mae nifer o negeseuon testun yn mynd ar goll yn yr app, ac mae nifer o rieni nad ydynt yn gwybod bod negeseuon newydd wedi cyrraedd, felly rydyn ni’n awgrymu eich bod yn dileu’r app. Heb yr app, byddwch yn derbyn neges destun arferol ar eich ffôn. Cofiwch nodi eich cod School Cloud cyn dileu!!

Llythyr Cymwysterau Cymru

Ddoe cyhoeddwyd y llythyr hwn ar gyfer disgyblion Cymru sy’n dilyn cyrsiau sydd wedi cael eu rheoleiddio gan Ofqual yn Lloegr. Ym Mro Edern, mae hyn yn cynnwys cyrsiau Troseddeg, Gwyddorau Meddygol, BTEC a nifer o gyrsiau galwedigaethol:

Cymraeg: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Zf5tFqxNHOlNmHLMQVdDPKhqhR8Z7LzO/view?usp=sharing

Saesneg: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hemHHiWwFhdfmGn3tO8mKhOoD2Z0yfvV/view?usp=sharing

Teithiau Real Madrid ac Inter Milan

Mae’n sicr nad yw’n syndod i chi glywed bod y teithiau pêl-droed hyn bellach wedi cael eu canslo. Dyma’r trefniadau ar gyfer y rhieni sydd wedi talu:

  • Talu ar ParentPay >> Ad-daliad yn dod drwy ParentPay
  • Taliad siec neu arian parod >> Ad-daliad siec ar y ffordd

Ymddiheuriadau am unrhyw anghyfleustra a’r siom sy’n deillio o’r penderfyniad, ond roedd hyn yn anochel ers sbel.

Mwynhewch eich penwythnos.

Pob dymuniad da i chi gyd

Pennaeth

ENGLISH BLOG

Hello Everyone

I would like to wish you all an early, happy St David’s Day.

I hope that you are all well. I’m sure that you’ll be pleased to hear that this is a short blog today, at the end of another busy week. Thanks to all the pupils and parents who attended our year 11,12 and 13 meeting on Wednesday. I hope you found it useful. Today’s blog consists mainly of headlines, with fuller details about many of the following matters in the last blog.

Monday – St David’s Day

I would like to confirm the arrangements for St David’s Day, namely that there are normal Monday morning lessons, followed by a screen-free afternoon for our pupils and staff. We have arranged a selection of activities for your child.

Here are the options for pupils:

  • enter the Cyfeillion (PTA) competitions by paying £1 on ParentPay and uploading photos of entries to Google Classroom – there are prizes!
  • continue walking, cycling or running during the afternoon and recording distances / times for our St David’s Pilgrimage
  • compete in any and many of the Urdd competitions, which include photography, art, composition, writing etc.

Full details and all links can be found on our special website for pupils:

We hope that everyone will benefit fully from the opportunity to do something different, and we will keep our fingers crossed for nice weather for everyone who wants to continue with the St David’s Pilgrimage. Some pupils have already completed all the mileage on their bike, and many staff have been busy walking, running or cycling around Cardiff over half term. Here’s an idea of some of the staff distances covered locally over the half term holidays:

  • Mr Steffan Jones – has completed the mileage to St David’s, and is 75km into the return leg!
  • Mr Arwel Jones – 42 km
  • Mr Aled Evans – 37 km
  • Miss Gwenan Price – 68.3 km
  • Miss Ceri A James – 64.8 km
  • Mrs Eirian Samuel – 33.6 km
  • Mrs Lowri Jones – 18 miles
  • Miss Eurgain Evans – 39.64 miles
  • Miss Elin Lloyd – 20 km
  • Miss Bethan Yapp – 49.95 km

Everyone is now completing the mileage to St Davids by the end of March. Personally, I managed to complete 100km up and down the Taff Trail, a combination of biking and walking. I’m sure our young and fit pupils will be able to beat the staff by the end of March!

#HerHannerTymor – Half Term Reading Challenge

Congratulations to the following on winning our half term reading challenge: Carys Hern, Leisa Hughes and Dylan Mills. Joe’s vouchers are waiting for you! Well done to everyone who took part. We hope you enjoyed your reading, and that you will continue to read daily.

Reports

Year 12 and 13 reports should have reached the “Announcements” section of your ClassCharts account yesterday, with year 11 following today. The next step is the forthcoming parents’ evenings, so that you can discuss the report directly with the staff teaching your child. If you or your child need a ClassCharts login, please contact Mr Gary Ellis: GEllis@ysgolbroedern.cardiff.sch.uk

Sixth Form Parents’ Evening

Please remember that the booking system on School Cloud opens tonight at 6pm, using a “first come, first served” computerised system. The evening will be held next Wednesday.

Full details of the School Cloud system and the virtual parents’ evenings can be found here. It is essential that you read the instructions and watch the video beforehand, to familiarise yourself with the system:

https://sites.google.com/hwbcymru.net/disgyblionbroedern/noson-rieni-2021

Year 9 Options’ Evening

This evening will be held for year 9 pupils and their parents next Thursday. Links will follow next week. The full timeline for year 9 options has appeared in the last blog.

Year 11 Parents’ Evening

As you know, this parents’ evening will be on Thursday 11 March. Bookings will open on Friday 5 March at 6pm. The 8 digit codes will be sent out by next Thursday.

Teachers2Parents App

We suggest very strongly that parents delete the Teachers2Parents app from their phone if they have it. Lots of text messages go missing in the app and many parents do not receive notifications of new messages, therefore we suggest that you delete the app. Without the app, you receive a normal text and the usual text notification on your phone. Remember to make a note of the School Cloud code before deleting!!

Qualifications Wales Letter

Yesterday, this letter was issued to pupils in Wales who are following courses regulated by Ofqual in England. At Bro Edern this includes Criminology, Medical Sciences, BTEC courses and a number of vocational courses:

Real Madrid and Inter Milan Trips

I’m sure that you are not surprised to hear that these football trips have now been cancelled. The arrangements for refunding parents are as follows:

  • Paid via ParentPay >> Refund via ParentPay
  • Paid via cash or cheque >> Cheque on its way to you

Apologies for any inconvenience and disappointment arising from this decision, but it has been inevitable for some time.

I hope that you all have a good weekend.

Best wishes
